Sometimes commercials really gets it right.

Scene: A man is working behind the register at a food store and are scanning in items a couple is buying.

WorkingMan: *smiling* “Hi, is everything alright?”

FemaleCustomer: “Yes, it is friday!” *genuine smile back*

*cut to a different day* *same people, same scene*

WM: “Hi is everything alright?”

FC: *nods a bit tired* “Yeah, it’s friday”

*another cut* *same people same scene* *the couple looks really tired and the woman’s hair is much shorter*

WM: *looking a bit concerned* “Hi, is everything alright?”

FC: *nods a bit*

Male Customer: “It’s friday.” 

*cut again* *same people same scene* *the woman is balled*

WM: *really concerned* “Everything alright?”

Couple: *looking sad and tired*

FC: “Yeah, it’s friday”

*cut again* *same scene but the man is alone*

WM: *looks really sad* “Hi.”

*before the MC can answer, the woman joins them, smiling* *her hair is growing back out*

FC: *to MC* “I found some pretty flowers!” *Smiling*

WM: *Smiling relieved and happy* “Well, it is friday!”

THIS COMMERCIAL WAS FOR THE STORE AND FOR THE CAMPAIGN TO RAISE MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH AND I JUST CAN’T DEAL WITH THE FEELS

Gender roles in a nutshell: the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang entrances in The Goblet of Fire.

also, to my knowledge neither of those schools were sex-segregated in the books

that really pissed me off. where were the beauxbatons boys? where were the durmstrang girls? they were clearly in the book so why not in the movie?

Because the moviemakers decided it was too radical to have people who weren’t gender stereotypes. God forbid a girl wearing dark, heavy clothes or a boy wearing designed light and flowy clothes. The children might get confused and think that they can express themselves however they want! The horror!
